Ford Racing SCJ Head

We've got a lot of activity on the Grooves and decided they should have their own section. You can visit the inventor's home page at http://www.somender-singh.com

Wow, threepiston, Eric and all; thanks for making me feel so welcome here.

Anyone have an opinion on why Singh recommends 0.070" piston to head clearance and
most everybody else (including me) recommends something tighter?

AB,
You most certainly are welcome here!
I read somewhere that 30 to 40 thou is most effective for a non-grooved engine but the wider clearances work best in conjunction with the grooves. I'll see if I can find more info on that.

The Singh man emailed me a year or 2 ago and told me that around 0.060" would be best for my engine with the grooves. I have to figure out how to hook up a knock sensor to the block and the AEM and then I'll be able to log the results. Even though you can't hear the knock, doesn't mean it isn't there.
