Is there any truth to the waxing myth?

Like the title, is there any proof that validates the theory of a waxed car sliding through the air better than an unwaxed car?

Maybe at super high speeds......but it won't make a difference for automobiles on the freeway.

There will be more noticeable gains by making your vehicle body more aerodynamic.....having less rolling resistance.....and reducing engine load than by waxing your car.

Waxing is good to do though.......shows ownership, makes it look good, and the dried dead bugs wash off easier.

The SR-71 Blackbird loses 30mph off the top-end with a single footprint on it's highly polished exterior.

I highly doubt it'll make any difference at speeds lower than 600 mph lol.
