98 saturn- using 2 exhaust camshafts

I have a 98 sl2 auto getting 40 mpg going to work 31 miles one way and i am thinking of chromemoly rings to lower friction I am advancing timing for better lowend and i know others have used 2 intakes for more topend but was thinking of using 2 exhaust cams for mor lowend and less overlap..?

Let me know how this cam works out, very interesting. I think you can exchange the 5th gear from a single cam transmission (mp2) and this will lower the RPM at cruse. I have advanced the timing a low rpm and this make the engine more responsive, I used a diode on the MAP sensor to lower the voltage read.

I've heard of the LM317 MAP Adjust trick on the VREF, and heard of using a pot and 100k resistor on the signal wire. How did you use a diode to alter MAP readings?

The twin exhaust cam trick may be advantageous to you in two ways. First, if everybody is looking for that extra intake cam, you could probably score you the exhaust cam in trade with all the shipping charges paid by the guy that is fighting for your intake cam. Secondly, the lower lift/duration will most likely give you that extra torque. Diamond Larry has done quite a bit with both a single cam and DOHC version, both getting wel over 50 mpg.

Cool.. I think your idea is good. I'm kind of interested also to make the same set up. Maybe I will try to go to a saturn parts store and see if they can provide me one or I can go to a mechanic and order a custom made. Thumbs up to this.
